Greenberg Glusker Honored For Its Support of the Arts

During its annual fundraising event, California Lawyers for the Arts (CLA), a California-based nonprofit organization that provides lawyer referrals for local artists, recognized Greenberg Glusker for its contribution to Los Angeles' arts community. Arthur N. Greenberg, one of the Firm's founders and a long-time supporter of the arts, accepted the Artistic License Award on behalf of the Firm.  

"We feel it important to recognize those individuals and organizations who have gone beyond the call of duty toward shaping Los Angeles' arts community," said Co-President of CLA’s Board of Directors Gerry Bryant.  “We appreciate their individual dedication, commitment and service to the arts.”

CLA was formed in San Francisco in 1974 to assist cash-strapped working artists find valuable legal representation.   Since that time, through state and local arts grants and private donations, CLA has been influential in the cultivation and support of up-and-coming artists and as an advocate for issues impacting arts statewide.

“We are truly honored to be part of such a dynamic initiative,” said Greenberg Glusker Managing Partner Norman H. Levine.  “We have always felt it important to be strong advocates for our community.”

For nearly 50 years,  Greenberg Glusker has been involved with the arts in Los Angeles.  In addition to representing some of the industry’s top and promising talent, the Firm’s attorneys have been active participants in some of the City’s great art organizations, including the Los Angeles Ballet, The Geffen Theatre, Women in Film, The Festival of New American Musicals, the Malibu Theatre Company, the Marat Daukayer Ballet Theatre, as well as many others.  Arthur N. Greenberg is a founder of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Skirball Cultural Center.  Mr. Greenberg is a board member of The Geffen Theatre, and has been a member of the Board of Governers of the Music Center of Los Angeles County.

State Senator Jack Scott of Pasadena, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry, Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, artist June Wayne, Rose Cano of Plaza de la Raza, and Greg Victoroff were among the award recipients.

CLA‘s Honorary Committee for the event included actors Annette Bening, Danny Glover, Cheech Marin and Ben Guillory, Joel Wachs, Malissa Feruzzi Shriver, Deborah Santana, Henry Hopkins and Bob L. Johnson.
