The Festival of New American Musicals

April 22, 2008

Greenberg Glusker today announced its support as a sponsor for the Festival of New American Musicals, which highlights and celebrates the American Musical as an art form by spotlighting new musicals written by famous and promising composers.

"As an entertainment attorney, and as one who studied theater growing up, I have a strong affection for the arts--particularly musical theater," said Greenberg Glusker entertainment litigator Bonnie E. Eskenazi, who serves on the Festival’s board of directors as its general counsel.  “My participation with the Festival allows me to give back to the community on a personal level.”

The Festival of New American Musicals, executive produced by Marcia Seligson and Bob Klein, is a two-month musical theater festival held during May and June at various venues throughout Southern California.  The Festival, working in partnership with more than 30 Southern California-area performing arts organizations, will be home to full productions, staged readings, workshops of musicals in progress, cabaret events, concerts, master classes and other events.

“The Festival allows us to highlight the considerable amount of local musical theater talent, while encouraging and supporting the new generation of talent,” said Marcia Seligson.  “We greatly appreciate the support of individuals and organizations, like Bonnie Eskenazi and Greenberg Glusker, in helping us to achieve our educational outreach on such a grand scale.”

For nearly 50 years, Greenberg Glusker has supported the arts throughout Southern California.  In addition to representing some of the industry’s top and promising talent, the Firm’s attorneys have been active participants in some of Los Angeles’ great art organizations, including the Los Angeles Ballet, The Geffen Theatre, Women in Film, the Malibu Theatre Company, the Marat Daukayer Ballet Theatre, as well as many others.
