Special Extension of Term Limits Made to Retain Legal Advisor to Commercial Brokers
Greenberg Glusker today announced that Litigation Group Chair Lee A. Dresie has been asked to serve a second five-year term as legal advisor to the board of directors of the AIR Commercial Real Estate Association. AIR is a non-profit organization which runs a commercial and industrial multiple listing service and represents 95 percent of Southern California’s commercial brokerage community. AIR’s board members approved a special resolution to waive its term limits to retain Dresie, who is the sole legal advisor on the board.
"We are proud of Lee’s ongoing service to AIR and the high esteem in which he is held,” said Greenberg Glusker’s Managing Partner Norman H. Levine. “His fine leadership skills as the Firm’s Litigation Group Chair, and his strong business sense, will continue as a reliable resource to the commercial real estate brokerage community in a challenging and dynamic market.”
Dresie’s practice focuses on litigation, arbitration and negotiation of all types of business disputes, with a particular emphasis on real estate-related matters. His representative achievements include the successful prosecution in federal court against a developer master landlord and 19 attorney tenants for breach of leases, subleases and guarantees. He also prevailed during a six-day trial in the defense of a landlord facing a tenant’s $2 million claim involving lease provision enforcements.
“Lee is a great communicator and has tremendous in-depth real estate experience and knowledge – a combination that’s hard to find,” said Bart G. Reinhard, a CB Richard Ellis broker and AIR’s nominating chair. “He has been instrumental in our group for finding the right people and discovering the right solutions to our members’ issues.”
A graduate of UCLA Law School, Dresie coached NCAA basketball at Claremont McKenna College. He frequently writes on real estate issues for various trade publications. Dresie was recognized as a 2009 Southern California Super Lawyer and serves on Greenberg Glusker’s Management Committee.
