Gary Kaplan has practiced for over 30 years in the area of tax and business planning for small and mid-sized businesses, focusing on partnerships, limited liability companies and S corporations. He has advised clients on a wide variety of organizational, financing and “liquidity event” issues as well as international and state and local tax planning and compliance.

• Represented a major Hollywood producer in the organization and financing of a slate of action and horror feature films
• Represented a top actor and producer in organizing and financing the new United Artists Entertainment Company
• Assisted in drafting legislation in which California adopted the federal Subchapter S rules
