Laura Zwicker chairs Greenberg Glusker's Family/Strategic Wealth Planning Group.

Ms. Zwicker's practice focuses primarily on counseling high net worth individuals and their families in connection with domestic and international estate and tax planning issues and business succession planning; advising financial institutions with regard to fiduciary and custodial issues; forming, advising and dissolving non-profit organizations; and probate and post-death trust administration.
 

• Counseled high net worth families regarding the creation of estate planning structures that not only minimize transfer taxes but that also reflect the values of the family with respect to education, charitable giving and community involvement
• Provided United States transfer tax planning for multinational families, including lifetime planning with domestic securities, life insurance and real property, and planning, preparation and establishment of offshore trust and corporate structures
• Provided counseling under new regulations regarding the proper structuring of corporate and private split-dollar insurance transactions
• Provided counseling to families with closely held business interests regarding business succession planning, estate tax planning and tax planning prior to the sale or public offering of the closely held business
• Represented South American government in planning and drafting a trust and custodial structure for a new national pension system
• Advised United States branch offices of European bank on their fiduciary duties with respect to their trust, investment advisory and custodial accounts and assisted in preparation of the bank’s policies and procedures manual
• Represented securities dealer acting as custodian in the planning and drafting of a custodial agreement relating to $50 billion in securities
