Brian Davidoff was quoted by Law360 on November 22, 2017, in an article discussing the current state of the retail industry and the bankruptcy outlook for 2018 which many experts expect to be the worst year yet for the industry.

With increasingly large debt loads, high credit risk and weakening earnings, traditional retailers are being forced to restructure leaving unsecured creditors including suppliers, landlords and in some cases even consumers, with little by way of recoveries in a Chapter 11.

“The retailers who’ve had to liquidate, the debt has been insurmountable,” said Davidoff. “Unsecured creditors are really going to take it in the shorts.”
