Beyond the NO FAKES Act, I've testified on three occasions in Sacramento this year on a bill [AB 1836] that seeks to protect deceased performers from being subjected to AI manipulations.
On the federal side, the goal [of the NO FAKES Act] was to extend AI protections beyond professional performers and include those who are regular people, without requiring any sort of commercial exploitation during their lifetimes for any deceased persons, and also ensuring specific protection for minors.
