PFASter than a Speeding Bullet | 2024 California Land Recycling Conference: From the Ground Up

September 18, 2024 at 3:00pm4:00pm (PDT)
Carson Event Center

Environmental Partner, Brian Moskal, will be speaking at the California Land Recycling Conference (CALRC) on September 18, 2024. Greenberg Glusker is also proud to sponsor this event.

Session Description

This panel will explore recent developments in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and delve into the new regulations introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which are the first-ever nationwide legally enforceable standards. When new regulations are hitting the bulletin, we will help you answer: What does this mean for you, your community, and proposed redevelopments? Our panel of experts will provide an in-depth analysis of how these changes will impact brownfields and due diligence, highlighting both challenges and opportunities for environmental remediation and redevelopment. We will discuss current approaches for clean up, site management and other approaches for managing PFAS exposure including a case study from a former California military base. In addition to discussing regulatory changes and cleanup approaches, the panel will ground the audience by covering the basics of remediation and communicating complex issues to the public. This session will be useful for both experienced practitioners dealing with an evolving issue, as well as those newer to brownfields looking to understand emerging contaminants.
