USC Gould School of Law – 2021 Intellectual Property Institute: Guitars, Cadillacs, and Termination Disputes

September 21, 2021 at 12:45pm1:45pm (PDT)

Litigation Chair, Aaron Moss, will be speaking on a panel titled "Guitars, Cadillacs, and Termination Disputes" at USC Gould School of Law's 2021 Intellectual Property Institute on September 21, 2021.

In 2013, when artists started trying to recapture their copyright interests in works copyrighted under the 1976 Copyright Act, an intricate dance ensued, bringing studios, publishers, and artists to the table to interpret the framework created by the 1909 and 1976 Acts, and to negotiate the complex factual issues underlying termination rights in a variety of works. This panel will discuss the issues raised by copyright termination disputes and the views of the various stakeholders in these matters.

Aaron Moss represents owners and users of creative content and litigates high-profile copyright and trademark actions for both plaintiffs and defendants, including studios, independent distributors, production companies, video game publishers, toy companies, apparel manufacturers, technology firms and individuals.
