This quarter's stories include:

  • Tremaine Emory, a renowned fashion-designer who founded Ye and Denim Tears, is a key player in the fashion industry and an advocate for diversity. He uses fashion to share thoughtful pieces of African American history. According to Emory, it is “all about putting things down that can’t be erased.” He becomes the newest Creative Director at Supreme where he will continue to be a champion for diversity through fashion. READ MORE

  • The NFL, through the Super Bowl Legacy Grant Program, seeks to enrich the surrounding communities of Super Bowl host cities. The NFL Foundation, the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee, LA84 Foundation, and the Play Equity Fund have given a total of $2 million to 56 charitable organizations in the Los Angeles community. Additionally, a Mobile Play Program has been launched to serve communities in the Los Angeles area with limited recreational space so that more children have an opportunity to play. READ MORE

  • Change 4 Children’s Foundation is an organization committed to funding child life services and innovation initiatives at children’s hospitals across the United States. It seeks to empower young people to be philanthropic within their own communities and to focus on improving the patient experience for their peers in need. Their “Life is Great” campaign is a partnership with the Pi Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity that will benefit the Child Life Services Department at the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. The Foundation has also partnered with Once Upon a Room to provide personalized hospital rooms for children fighting life-threatening illnesses or acute traumas that have kept them in the hospital for extended periods of time. READ MORE

  • Gather for Good is an organization comprised of business owners, parents, residents, and many more who are committed to making a difference in the world through charitable contributions. Most recently, the organization put together a Charity Baking Fundraiser in which businesses based in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and San Francisco sold baked goods to raise money for World Central Kitchen and Libereco PHR. These two organizations are on the frontlines providing meals for refugees, assisting families with evacuation, and helping families locate temporary housing. Their Charity Baking Fundraiser raised more than $50,000. READ MORE

  • Dress for Success's annual Your Hour, Her Power campaign celebrates women by helping them advance economically and gain access to opportunities through programs, services, professional attire, and various developmental tools needed to succeed in the workplace. Participants pledge one hour of pay to help empower women. Dress for Success has a global presence and campaign that helps over 75,000 women annually. READ MORE
