Relaunching Bet Tzedek’s Small Claims Clinic
We are proud to spotlight the individual contributions of our colleagues who have supported Bet Tzedek’s relaunch of its Small Claims Court Clinic.
Bet Tzedek, meaning "House of Justice," is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit law firm providing free legal services, education, and advocacy. Founded in 1974, it supports seniors, workers, tenants, families, and transgender individuals, addressing issues like housing, economic stability, and family preservation. Programs like the Small Claims Clinic empower communities with the tools to navigate legal processes.
Steve Stein has provided exceptional leadership in this initiative, helping to develop critical content and record videos for Bet Tzedek’s resource library. His work ensures that individuals have access to the tools and information they need to navigate the small claims process effectively.
Emily Avazian and Eric Sefton have been instrumental in the Small Claims x Housing initiative, creating comprehensive trainings and recording educational videos. They also led "Know Your Rights" workshops, empowering low-income tenants with the knowledge to advocate for themselves during the small claims process.
