Did Ye’s revenge music video go too far?

Doug Mirell, a litigation partner with extensive First Amendment experience, shares his commentary with the Los Angeles Times regarding a new music video posted by Ye (formerly known as Kanye West). In that video, a Claymation version of Ye is depicted decapitating and burying another Claymation character allegedly resembling Pete Davidson. Mirell addressed the possible impact of a disclaimer that appeared at the end of the video upon Ye’s potential criminal culpability under California Penal Code Section 422.
