Biography

Lori Werderitch is a partner in the Litigation Department of Greenberg Glusker, handling a broad spectrum of matters for high-net-worth individuals and businesses of all sizes. In all matters, Lori focuses on delivering client success with bottom-line cost-effectiveness.

An experienced litigator, Lori advises clients through all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling, settlement negotiation, and discovery, through trial, appeal, and collection. Lori’s successes include obtaining winning trial results, grants of dispositive motions and pleading challenges without leave to amend, exclusion of opposing expert witnesses, judgment on the pleadings, voluntary early dismissals, and favorable negotiated settlement terms.

Representing clients across a range of industries, Lori’s experience encompasses:

  • Representing owners and landlords in pursuit of possession, in prosecuting construction defects, and in defense of tenant and third-party contract and tort claims.
  • Handling complex business disputes involving unfair business practices, breach of contract, defamation, and fraud.
  • Defending employers in potential class actions arising from alleged wage and hour violations, as well as single-plaintiff lawsuits alleging wrongful termination, retaliation, and discrimination. She also represents employers in seeking Workplace Violence Restraining Orders on behalf of employees experiencing threats of violence in the workplace.
  • Negotiating favorable settlement terms on behalf of Bankruptcy Trustees prior to filing adversary proceedings as well as on the eve of trial. She has also achieved winning results in Bankruptcy Court on motions to withdraw the reference, summary judgment/adjudication, and trial.

In 2018, Lori co-chaired the trial team and delivered the closing argument in a breach of contract and construction dispute that resulted in a $2.1 million damages award for the client, including an award for 100% of incurred legal fees. She has also successfully tried real estate disputes and contract actions, similarly resulting in complete fee awards.

Lori is an avid supporter of the Alliance For Children’s Rights, dedicating significant pro bono hours every year toward securing guardianships and increased benefits for children in California’s foster care system. She is Chair of the Board of the non-profit Communities in Schools – Los Angeles (CISLA), a drop-out prevention program servicing LAUSD’s highest-need communities.

Lori recently served as the President of the Century City Bar Association (2020-2021) and is a current member of its Board of Governors. She formerly served as its President-Elect (2019-2020), Vice-President (2018-2019), and Treasurer (2016-2018).
