STUDIO CITY, CA – Over 160 multifamily owners came together from across greater Los Angeles to learn from a panel of top Los Angeles owners at the third annual "Multifamily Wealth" seminar presented by Berzack Investment Property Advisors, a specialty multifamily brokerage team that brings more than 100 years of combined experience as both agents and owners.

"Top Multifamily Owners Share the Secrets to Their Success," held in Studio City, CA, on Feb. 5, 2015, featured a panel of some of Los Angeles' largest private apartment owners, with over 2,500 units among them, revealing how they built their portfolios and the keys to being a successful multifamily investor.

"This year's seminar was our hugest success yet, giving investors an exclusive opportunity to 'peek behind the curtain' and learn from the best," said Warren Berzack, president of Berzack Investment Property Advisors and a principal of Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura. "I'm a big believer in modeling best practices. Plus, as an avid owner and property manager myself, I recognize the need for investors to be better educated and prepared for the challenges of ownership. We're all about giving local multifamily owners the most valuable, cutting-edge guidance to maximize their investments' wealth and security."

The evening, which became standing-room only, also gave attendees the rare opportunity to ask direct questions in an interactive Q&A on owners' biggest challenges today. The crowd was especially attentive to the panelists' more personal disclosures, such as when they spoke about the most challenging situations they've faced, their biggest regrets and their greatest blessings.

"We deliberately selected a diverse group of top caliber owners who've seen anything and everything when it comes to multifamily ownership," said Berzack. "Our experts really delivered, graciously sharing their tricks of the trade and providing a wealth of frank, indispensable guidance. Their sincere concern for nurturing other owners' success was tangible and kept the room engaged throughout the night," said Berzack.

The event also featured a special market review and forecast for 2015, given by Stephen Geiger, a partner of Berzack Investment Property Advisors and a Lee principal. Additionally, there were talks by a top real estate attorney and CPA on the latest estate and tax planning strategies for saving money and protecting owners' assets.

The owners panel Q&A session generated lively interaction on such topics as: maximizing value; reducing expenses without sacrificing service; handling late-paying tenants, problem tenants and the eviction process; dealing with governmental interventions; and managing legal issues, lawsuits and insurance claims. Berzack spoke on and moderated the panel as well.

Speakers included: Warren Berzack; Stephen Geiger; Selwyn Gerber, founding partner of Gerber & Co. CPAs; and Marc Stern, partner with Greenberg Glusker. The owners panel speakers included: Tim Sauer, owner of Sauer Properties; Danny Monempour, president of Monem Corporation; and Andy Goldman, owner of Goldman Property Group.

The program, free to attendees, was held at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. It also included a dinner buffet and networking reception.
