“Hy-Vee’s move shows that a traditional grocer can’t beat the dollar stores by imitating them,” said Jonathan Shenson. “When Hy-Vee put its own name and fresh departments back on those stores, customers responded. That is a lesson for Hy-Vee, not a distress signal for the sector.”
