Benny Roshan, chair of the Probate, Trusts & Estates Litigation department, shared commentary with The Hollywood Reporter regarding Jamie Spears’ latest filing seeking to terminate the conservatorship. Jamie Spears now concedes that "[Britney] should get the chance" to manage her own life. As it appears that the end may be in sight for this world-famous conservatorship, Benny believes Britney may engage the services of a private professional fiduciary to oversee management of her finances in lieu of a formal conservatorship.

“Overall, once the conservatorship ends, there is no formal mechanism in place to ensure a conservatee has protections in place.”

“The termination order implies the person has the wherewithal to manage her own life. That said, the option is definitely there to construct a support system to ensure there is no backsliding.”

“This doesn’t have to be an all-or-nothing proposition where Britney is either in the death grips of a conservator or going at it entirely solo.”
