Litigation Partner, Ira Steinberg, shared his insights with U.S. News & World Report on the New York Attorney General's recent decision to file a lawsuit against Capital One, alleging that the bank misled some customers out of earning higher interest rates on savings.

"If the parties quickly enter into negotiations, it could be a matter of months for consumers to receive compensation," says Ira M. Steinberg, a partner at Greenberg Glusker who specializes in commercial and business litigation. "If the parties litigate the case, it will likely be years, and that assumes that the NYAG wins.  If the bank wins, then obviously the customers are not entitled to restitution because there was no wrongful conduct."
