Dan Stone, entertainment litigation partner, shared with The Los Angeles Times how producers are preparing in advance of the Writers Guild of America contract negotiations. Negotiations begin on March 20, with the collective bargaining agreement set to expire on May 1. As a result, there is increased interest in local language production and projects that will shoot outside of the United States.

Excerpts:

“There’s an increased interest in local language production,” said Dan Stone.

“Domestic producers are working with foreign talent to set up projects that will shoot overseas.”
