Greenberg Glusker music and media partner William I. Hochberg was quoted in a recent article, “Led Zeppelin members attend opening statements of ‘Stairway’ infringement trial,” (Los Angeles Daily Journal, June 15, 2016).

On the first day of trial, Led Zeppelin members Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were in court to face accusations of copyright infringement in their iconic song "Stairway to Heaven." Opening statements were made, and witnesses for the plaintiff began to take the stand.

According to Hochberg, Plant and Page's presence is a good sign for the defense:

"They're certainly no strangers to copyright infringement claims over the decades, most of them have settled. This one did not," Hochberg said. "The question is whether that's because of a strong belief in the integrity of the songwriting or because the song is such a signature song for them."
