Bonnie Eskenazi, a partner at Los Angeles-based midsize firm Greenberg Glusker, said the firm hasn’t seen a lot of women leave because of child care needs. Some have gone part-time, she noted, or left for a time and came back later.

“It may be because we don’t have as rigorous a schedule as the big firms that require … as much as 2,300 hours a year, which is very hard when you have young kids,” Eskenazi said.
