Cal/OSHA Issues Updated Sample COVID-19 Safety Plan to Incorporate its Revised Emergency Temporary Standards

As we shared several weeks ago in “Ready, Set, Re-open!,” Cal/OSHA recently revised its COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards (“ETS”) which instruct California workplaces how to re-open safely while facing the challenges of the ongoing pandemic.

Although the revised ETS no longer mandates physical distancing or masks for vaccinated employees in most instances, it still requires California employers to develop and distribute a written COVID-19 Prevention Program (“CPP”). In light of the revisions to the ETS, Cal/OSHA stated it would promptly revise its Model COVID-19 Prevention Program (“CPP”).

As promised, Cal/OSHA issued the Revised Model CPP on June 29, 2021. You can find the updated template on the Department of Industrial Relations (“DIR”) COVID-19 information page by scrolling down to the penultimate section, entitled “COVID-19 Model Written Program,” where you can download the fillable Word document.
