Greenberg Glusker Represents Megatrax in Sale to Slipstream Music Platform
Los Angeles, CA — Greenberg Glusker served as legal counsel to Megatrax in its acquisition by leading production music platform Slipstream, significantly expanding Slipstream’s catalog to more than 1 million tracks. Founded in 1991, Los Angeles-based Megatrax represents over 200,000 tracks created by composers, songwriters, and musicians for use across film, television, and advertising. Megatrax will continue to operate independently as it is integrated into Slipstream’s platform.
The acquisition advances Slipstream’s long-term consolidation strategy and strengthens its global licensing capabilities. By integrating Megatrax into its proprietary platform, Slipstream aims to modernize music distribution, enhance client offerings, and expand its footprint in key international markets, particularly Latin America, where Megatrax has an established presence and generates a significant portion of its revenue. The combination also positions Slipstream to meet growing demand for culturally relevant, region-specific music across advertising, television, and digital streaming platforms.
“Megatrax has been a cornerstone of the production music industry for more than three decades,” said William Moodie, Corporate Partner at Greenberg Glusker and lead counsel to Megatrax. “This transaction brings together a best-in-class catalog with a modern licensing platform, creating meaningful opportunities for growth across global markets.”
The Greenberg Glusker deal team was led by corporate partners Andrew Apfelberg and William Moodie with support from attorneys Robert Cahill (Corporate), Lisa Von Eschen (Employment), Natasha Shabani (Intellectual Property), Brian Moskal (Environment), and Daniel Cousineau (Tax).
