Greenberg Glusker has broad experience in advising technology and social media companies, consumer products companies, and celebrities who engage in business with third parties.

Highly skilled in the issues that typically arise in these transactions, we leverage our familiarity with prevailing market terms involved in such arrangements to achieve the best deal for our clients.

These licensing agreements often involve the grant to third parties of the right to use our clients’ trademarks, proprietary information, software, know-how, names, images, likenesses and brands in connection with commercial ventures.  Consequently, we collaborate closely with our colleagues in the Intellectual Property Group to ensure that our clients’ intellectual property rights receive adequate protection and maximum return.

One of our strengths lies in our ability to assist our clients in conducting an inventory of its intellectual property, followed by setting out our recommendation for an organized and methodical approach toward the best use for the economic exploitation of such intellectual property. We are thus effective in helping our clients to safeguard their intellectual property, while also licensing those rights associated with such intellectual property to third parties.

September 9, 2021

Corporate, Finance & Securities Chair, Rich Sweet, is featured in Law.com's article "How I Made Practice Group Chairman." After being a partner at the firm for three years, Rich was promoted to practice group chairman in 2018. His ability to connect with attorneys in his department, and staff, is what propelled him into practice group chair outside of the traditional pre-requisites for the job. His best piece of advice to anyone looking to make it to firm leadership is to find mentors in and outside of the firm. There are a lot of valuable takeaways that a good mentor can provide. Excerpts:  "Connecting with staff and attorneys is one of the values my firm places a premium on—work culture. Achieving and maintaining a collaborative and healthy work environment can be extremely challenging in our industry given the nature of our work. Connecting with people is a necessary component of managing a department that prioritizes culture." “Having a Hispanic heritage and living in one of the most diverse communities in the world, I recognize the importance of having diverse voices in our firm. This is why I am a member of our firm’s diversity committee. My hope is that by having more diverse perspectives and voices at Greenberg Glusker, we will foster more inclusiveness and as a result, we will respond to the needs of our diverse clientele.” "For me, the key to successful business development is a mix of excellent client service and getting out in the community to engage with the others in your industry.
