Vish Mohan

Vish has significant experience representing various artists, athletes, content creators, directors, producers, models, social media influencers, production companies, media companies, advertising and marketing agencies, interactive entertainment/gaming companies, and fashion and apparel brands.

Vish regularly assists their entertainment and media clients in navigating all stages of deals and disputes, including through transactional advice, risk management counseling, and litigation. Vish’s expertise is in IP law (think copyright, trademark, right of publicity, etc.) and its significance within the entertainment and media industry. But even when Vish’s relationship with their clients begins with IP queries, Vish is very proud that their clients usually end up using them as the general counsel for all things legal. Indeed, in addition to or conjunction with IP, Vish has helped clients with numerous deals and disputes involving content creation, direction, production, finance, and distribution; defamation and First Amendment issues; business operations and management; branding, advertising, and marketing; and emerging media and tools, such as blockchain/Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), metaverse, web3, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Vish is passionate about the entertainment and media industry and the societal impact it has and can have. Vish thus writes and presents on hot topics in entertainment, media, and IP for various professional associations, lawyers, and clients.

Vish commits a significant part of their practice to pro bono and public interest work, especially in the immigration realm; fighting for the rights of queer folx; and furthering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the legal and entertainment and media industries. That work has given Vish the wonderful opportunity to work with and be on the board of many great professional and not-for-profit organizations, as well as fight for equality and justice before various administrative bodies and courts, including the Supreme Court of the Unites States. Of late, Vish is particularly proud of spearheading the firm’s queer affinity group and also working with law schools, colleges, high schools, and community centers to create career pipeline programs for folx from underrepresented groups.

Most importantly, when Vish is not actively lawyering, they are usually creating some kind of art with their family in a creative space (which is usually the garden).
