Doug Mirell, litigation partner and First Amendment expert, again discussed the current Alex Jones defamation trial with Vinny Politan of Closing Arguments on Court TV. Mirell provided his analysis of Jones’ testimony in the Connecticut damages case where he is being sued for promoting the lie that the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school massacre was a hoax.

"I don’t think Alex Jones did himself any favors today. He created an environment that is potentially likely to inflame the jury against him. What he has done today, by refusing to apologize, is pouring more salt into these families’ wounds...I think the jury is smart enough to understand that a defense based upon ‘I didn’t kill them’ isn’t going to get him anywhere.”
