Our guest editor for October Good Reads is Pierce O’Donnell, a renowned lawyer and longtime friend of the firm. POD, as we affectionately call him, was named by The National Law Journal in 2000 one of the “100 Most Influential Lawyers in America.” He graduated from Georgetown University and Yale Law School and served as a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Byron R. White before embarking on a prodigious 46-year legal career. Recently, Pierce starred in an ESPN podcast reprising the drama surrounding the 2014 sale of the Los Angeles Clippers from Shelly Sterling to Steve Ballmer for $2 billion. You can listen to it here. Outside the courtroom, Pierce has written five books including Fatal Subtraction: How Hollywood Really Does Business about his involvement in the Buchwald v. Paramount Pictures case and a WWII true thriller, In Time of War: Hitler's Terrorist Attack on America.
