Will A's ownership shift hit stadium plan out of the park?

Lew Wolff will sell his interest in the Oakland Athletics and John Fisher will step in as managing partner.

The A's said Thursday that Wolff will sell his interest to the remaining owners and become "chairman emeritus" of the Major League Baseball franchise and Fisher will replace him as managing partner. MLB owners approved the move during a meeting in Chicago.

The move is big for proponents of a new stadium for the A's, since Fisher has taken an increasingly active role, especially in the past year, in nailing down a ballpark plan for the franchise. Insiders have said the team could make a decision on a stadium location by the end of the year.
